Organisational planning
National Disability Services (Queensland), in partnership with Disability Services is making training available to strengthen the strategic and operational planning skills of funded non-government service providers and encourage them to demonstrate a needs-driven approach to service planning and delivery.
This initiative focuses on the development of planning skills including:
- planning the services and supports required for individuals and groups
- workforce succession planning
- future support planning and provider capacity
- the benefits of collaboration for learning, experiences and professional knowledge
- the use of mainstream services
Dates for organisational planning workshops will be available on the National Disability Services website.
Why is it important to address organisational planning?
The need for greater focus on the long-term sustainability of the disability sector has been identified as a significant need across Australia.
The need for increased skill development in this area has been highlighted through the implementation of the Disability Sector Quality System.
Local communities planning
The Local Communities Planning initiative will engage smaller Queensland communities in planning around the current and future needs of people with a disability in their area. The project will be managed by local councils and will encourage service providers to develop collaborative partnerships with the community in supporting local needs
