Accommodation Services

The department provides funding to non-government service providers through the Accommodation Services Initiative to provide best-practice accommodation service models.
Non-government service providers were invited to apply for funding through this initiative to provide the following accommodation services:
- In-home support
- Accommodation Support
- Mobile on-call assistance
A copy of the Accommodation Services Initiative Manual is also available to download. The manual provides guidelines for funded non-government service providers for the delivery of services through this initiative.
History of the Accommodation Services Initiative:
Funding has been allocated to non-government service providers across the State to provide additional accommodation services for people with a disability.
In 2007-08 $3.4 million in recurrent and one-off funding was allocated to 15 non-government service providers to increase service provision in the following areas:
- Brisbane - Centacare Southside Disability Services
- Brisbane - Multicap
- Brisbane - Life Without Barriers
- Brisbane - Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland
- Gold Coast - FSG Australia
- Gold Coast - Coastal Accommodation Support Services
- Sunshine Coast - Southern Cross Care Services
- Ipswich - Focal Extended
- Toowoomba - Multicap
- Kingaroy - South Burnett Community Training Centre
- Hervey Bay - Hervey Bay Community Access Association
- Rockhampton - Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland
- Mackay - Multicap
- Townsville - The Wheelchair and Disabled Association of Aust
In 2006-07 $3 million was allocated to eight non-government service providers to increase service provision in the following areas:
- Brisbane - Brain Injury Association of Queensland
- Brisbane - Multicap
- Brisbane - Stepping Stone Clubhouse
- Cairns - Endeavour In Home Accommodation Support Service
- Gold Coast - Headway Gold Coast Inc.
- Gympie - Endeavour
- Rockhampton - Endeavour
- Warwick - Community Options
In 2005-06, 16 non-government service providers received recurrent and one-off funding to provide services in the following areas:

- Brisbane - Leeding Care
- Brisbane - Micah
- Brisbane - Multicap
- Bundaberg - Endeavour
- Bundaberg - YMCA
- Caboolture - Connections
- Gold Coast - FSG Gold Coast

- Logan - Centacare Anam Cara
- Maryborough - Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland
- Narangba - Intellectually Handicapped Persons Association
- Redlands - Access to the Bayside Community
- Scarborough - ROPE
