Project 300
Since its inception approximately 10 years ago, Project 300 has supported over 300 individuals with a psychiatric disability to move from Queensland Health extended care facilities to living in the community.
Housing and Support Program (HASP)
HASP supports people with a psychiatric disability to transition from Queensland Health inpatient care into community living. This is achieved through a collaborative partnership between Disability Services Queensland, Queensland Health and the Department of Housing.
Resident Support Program
This program provides direct support to people with a disability living in the private residential services sector.
The program aims to provide people with a disability, who live in private residential services, with opportunities to develop skills, make community connections and gain access to appropriate health care services.
Mental Health Non-Government Organisation Funding Program
Since the Machinery of Government changes in September 2007, $13.5 million was transferred from Queensland Health to Disability Services Queensland along with the 59 non-government service providers statewide who receive this funding.
The 59 non-government service providers implement a range of programs including:
- community awareness and education
- early intervention
- family and peer support
- independent living and social support
- non-clinical counselling services,
- building sector capacity through training and organisational development activities.
