S-Troupe

Ipswich Little Theatre Society Inc.

Group of S-Troupe membersS-Troupe Ipswich Little Theatre Society Inc.

The S-Troupe drama group was specifically established to cater for people with physical and intellectual disabilities. It has grown from strength to strength since its inception in 1992, providing Ipswich audiences with a fine array of singing, dancing, mime and acting performances by people with a disability. To my knowledge,
S-Troupe is the only group in Queensland who has this opportunity.

"You cannot come away from an S-Troupe show without a smile on your face."

Under the umbrella of the Ipswich Little Theatre Society, S-Troupe plays an integral role in the program provided by this theatre group for the people of Ipswich and surrounding areas. S-Troupe is included at every opportunity possible and the committee is very supportive of their activities.

We like to focus on people's abilities, not their disabilities. The 'S' stands for special and indeed they are. You cannot come away from an S-Troupe show without a smile on your face.

Weekly rehearsals are held where members take part in a variety of activities, including learning songs from other countries and performing fractured fairytales.
S-Troupe also participates in themed street parades and performs at theatre restaurants, local nursing homes and Christmas carol events.
