Paralympian Paul Harpur shares his experience (MP3 242 kB) at the Commonwealth Games. Paul has competed in the Paralympics, World Titles and Commonwealth Games.

The 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games saw him reach the pinnacle of his sporting success by breaking the Australian record for the 100 metres in T12 (totally blind).

Blind paralympian Paul Harpur's determination and dedication to running helped him write his name in the Australian record books.

Paul Harpur:

Breaking a long-standing Australian record for the 100m at the 2006 Commonwealth Games is the highlight of my sporting career.

I will never forget the sound of the starter's gun [SFX:starter's gun], the roar of the crowd [SFX:crowd roars], or the rush of adrenaline.
