Christine Pampling
Christine PamplingI had to move to an 'epileptic home' when I was 9 years old. When I was 12, I was moved to Baillie Henderson Hospital where I lived until I was 47 years old. At that time I was unable to hold a cup, feed myself, dress or go to the toilet on my own.
Since moving to my own home in the community, I have learnt to do all these things by myself. I cook, wash up and go to the clubhouse whenever I want.
I have even written and published a book about my life. It is called 'Now I can please myself'. The best thing about living in the community is that I get to make my own choices instead of someone else making them for me.
