Ann Brunker

My name is Ann Brunker and I live in Bowen. I am originally from Collinsville. I have an intellectual disability and epilepsy. I struggled with schooling and felt I was ignored because I was slow to learn.

Until I found out about a support organisation called Bowen Flexi Care, I felt very isolated as I didn't know how to mix with people. Today I am active. I am able to catch a bus and I participate in mosaics, painting projects, social group meetings, photography and other activities.

I am independent and am enjoying my life. I really love music and watching others enjoying themselves. One thing I would like to do is to go swimming. I have not been able to do this for about two years. It would be lovely to jump into water, particularly because summer in Bowen is hot.
