Down Syndrome Awareness Week

Queensland celebrated Down Syndrome Awareness Week from 9–16 October.

Deaf Festival

I went to the Deaf Festival in Brisbane last month and was amazed to find myself in a sea of people - all talking with their hands and faces. It was lively, busy and energetic.

I wanted to join in. And while everyone was welcoming I couldn't speak the language and I felt like I was in the minority, and that was different for me. It reminded me that building inclusion is important and that we're all different in our own way.
