Linda Apelt This issue of Connect highlights Disability Services Queensland's record budget and you'll find a feature detailing how the budget will help us continue to improve service delivery. Also included is an overview of the government's response to the Carter Report and our Growing Stronger initiative.
Disability Action Week is a highlight for the disability sector and we present to you an overview of the 2007 event with all the pizazz it deserves, spotlighting this year's colourful launch event and awards ceremony.
The Shared Visions regional forums have commenced and will run until October so make sure you get involved.
Entertainment takes a special place in this edition with coverage of the Brisbane tour of dance band, the Merry Makers, and interviews with the director of a forthcoming comedy starring people with a disability, as well as a story on Special Olympics competitor Michelle Cotter.
Finally, thank you to everyone who participated in our readership survey. Your feedback will help us to improve Connect and make it even more relevant and satisfying. The prize- winning survey entry from Issue 12 will be drawn on 17 October so you still have time to participate.
