Australia signs the UN convention for people with a disability

The Australian Government recently signed the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities at the United Nations, marking a historic moment in the lives of Australian people with a disability.

Australian Federation of Disability Organisations chairperson Samantha Jenkinson says "the Convention upholds the values of all people with a disability irrespective of the type of disability, their language or geographic location".
