Queensland Disability Service Standards
Central to the Disability Sector Quality System are the Queensland Disability Service Standards (QDSS). These standards have a strong service user perspective and detail the rights of people with a disability as they relation to the services they receive.
Each standard has a series of indicators against which services are assessed as part of the audit. These indicators outline the systems or processes that help to achieve the intended outcomes of the standard.
All services that are recurrently funded or delivered by Disability Services Queensland must demonstrate how they meet these 10 standards.
Exceptions
Some types of services are not required to meet the QDSS because their type of service delivery is not easily reflected by the standards. For example, some services do not have direct contact with service users. Refer to the Standards section to see other standards within the quality system.
