ISO 9001:2000
It is recognised that the application of the Queensland Disability Service Standards (QDSS) may not be appropriate to the service delivery of some service types.
This may occur when:
- the service user is not a person with a disability, or a carer or family of a person with a disability
- service delivery is not care based
- service delivery is not provided through direct contact with service users
- service delivery is population based or
- a service provider is also the service user.
Those service providers recurrently funded solely for the following service types may choose the ISO 9001:2000 standard as an alternative option to the QDSS:
Information and print disability
- 6.02 - Information and print disability
- 6.03 - Combined information/advocacy
- 6.04 - Mutual support/self help groups
- 6.05 - Alternative formats of communication
Other support
- 7.01 - Research and evaluation
- 7.02 - Training and development
- 7.03 - Peak bodies
- 7.04 - Other support services
The ISO 9001:2000 Supplementary Resource Kit supports these service providers to identify which set of standards best supports their service delivery.
