Certification bodies

Certification bodies are independent of Disability Services Queensland and conduct service providers' external assessments and maintenance visits.

In order to be able to conduct audits in the Disability Sector Quality System, certification bodies are required to complete an accreditation process undertaken by the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ). A service provider should check this when engaging a certification body.

A number of certification bodies are accredited under the quality system, offering service providers flexibility and choice. For a list of accredited certification bodies, visit the JAS-ANZ Register for Accredited Bodies and select Management Systems then Disability Support Services in Queensland in the program drop-down menu.

Service providers are responsible for negotiating and contracting a certification body to undertake their external assessment. Resource Kit 4 (PDF 992 kB) contains further information on contracting a certification body.
