Post-implementation

Once a service provider has achieved certification, they must undergo recertification and progress through the implementation cycle every three years, with yearly maintenance audits to track their continuous improvements.

Because the Disability Sector Quality System is a quality management system, continuous improvement is vital. Each service provider must work to improve its services and systems.

During the post-implementation period, service providers should reflect on their external assessment. They should identify those processes that are working well and those that need improvement. They can start by referring to their audit report and to their continuous improvement plan, which they developed in Step 4 of their implementation cycle.

Service providers should also refer to their continuous improvement plan (template available in Partners in Quality – Resources and Guide).

For more information on post-implementation, refer to Resource Kit 5 - Continuing quality (PDF 657 kB) which service providers receive upon achieving certification under the Disability Sector Quality System.
