Training sessions take place on Disability Services Regulation 2006

DSQ provide training on the Regulation to service provider representatives in Brisbane (September 2006).

Disability Services Queensland conducted a series of public training sessions across Queensland from September to November 2006 to provide information on the Disability Services Regulation 2006.

The training on the Regulation, which provides details essential to making the Disability Services Act 2006 operational, took place in 19 separate locations.

The training sessions provided information to service providers about the content and requirements of the Regulation, in particular the requirement to develop and maintain certain policies.

Sessions also included a workshop style session to give providers an overview of how to develop policy.

The sessions began on 12 September in Brisbane and also concluded in the state capital on 29 November, in between visiting among others Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Maryborough, Ipswich, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. Nearly 500 members of the public attended the 19 separate sessions.

For those people who are interested in the Disability Services Act 2006 and the Disability Services Regulation 2006 but were unable to attend any of the sessions, you can find more information on this website in Publications and Resources, or contact the Disability Information Service.
