Criminal history screening
From 1 July 2006 the Disability Services Act 2006 introduces criminal history screening for all people engaged by funded non-government service providers.
Disability Services Act 2006
The Disability Services Act 2006 was passed by the Queensland Parliament in March 2006. The new Act provides the strongest foundation Queenslanders have ever had for promoting the rights of people with a disability, increasing their wellbeing and encouraging their participation in the life of the community.

Funding Policy project
The Funding policy project commenced in August 2006. The project will develop an enhanced framework for funding services from non-government organisations within the community services and disability sectors. The project will consider the issue of paying a fair price for services.
Growing stronger
Disability Services Queensland has announced a significant package of reform that will greatly improve the delivery of specialist disability services in Queensland.
