To find a service which meets your needs, provide as much information as possible before clicking the search button.
Finding services by agency or organisation name
To find a service by agency or organisation name, key in all or part of the agency or organisation name in the search criteria box.
For example entering child will return all agencies with a name starting with child:
- 'Child and Family ...'
- 'Children ....'
- 'Childers ... ' etc.
or with a word in the name which starts with child:
- 'Toowong Child and Family...'
Note:Your chosen name may sometimes be the name of the 'parent' organisation of the agency not the agency name itself. You may need to refine your search to find services in your local area.
Clicking the search button will perform a search using the criteria you have entered or selected. At least one search criteria must be entered or selected before a search can be performed.
Remember to choose reset form before starting a different search of the service directory.
Finding services by type of service
You can choose to search for agencies providing services for more than one type of disability. If you want to find agencies which provide services for people with a number of disabilities or service needs, key in the type of disabilities or services that you are looking for separated by 'AND'.
For example if 'Alzheimers disease' AND 'Multiple sclerosis' is entered in search criteria box, you will find agencies which provide services for people with both of these disabilities.
If you want services which cater for people with any of a number of disabilities or service needs, key in the type of disabilities or services that you are looking for separated by 'OR'.
For example if 'Alzheimers disease' OR 'Multiple sclerosis' is entered in the search criteria box, you will find agencies which provide services for people with Alzheimers OR people with Multiple sclerosis, but they may not provide services for both groups of people.
Clicking the search button will perform a search using the criteria you have entered or selected. At least one search criteria must be entered or selected before a search can be performed.

Finding services by location of the service
It is possible to find agencies by location using the service directory search by keying in all or part of an agency address such as the name of the suburb, town or city where you are looking for a service.
For example if you key in 'wood*' and click search, the search will find all agencies with the address starting with Wood:
- Woodridge
- Woodford
- Woody Point etc.
For a comprehensive search of all agencies providing services to people with disabilities in a particular area, click within the region of the map of Queensland or on the text links to select that search area.
Some agencies provide a statewide service so you may want to leave location blank for a comprehensive search.
Clicking the search button will perform a search using the criteria you have entered or selected. At least one search criteria must be entered or selected before a search can be performed.
