Regional Disability Councils

Regional Disability Councils provide advice to the Minister for Disability Services, through the Disability Council of Queensland, on issues impacting on people with a disability and their families at a local and regional level.

The Minister appointed new members to the State's ten Regional Disability Councils for a three-year term commencing on 10 December 2007.

The major role of Regional Disability Councils (RDCs) is to:

At the Minister's direction, the RDCs may be asked to link with the Disability Council of Queensland to consult on state-wide issues relating to the development of policy and the provision of services to people with a disability, their families and carers.
