Providing Queenslanders with a disability with equitable access to information is an important priority for Disability Services Queensland (DSQ) and the state government.

The right of people with a disability to access information is protected through the Queensland Disability Services Act 1992.

This discussion paper is a preliminary step in the development of a policy and guidelines on preparing information for people with a disability.
DSQ's current communication and publishing practices
DSQ has adopted many best-practice principles for communicating with people with a disability.

The following are issues which need to be considered in communicating with and publishing for people with a disability and should be reflected in the policy.
