On completion of the program, Graduates will have developed a range of competencies including:
- a high level knowledge of Disability Services Queensland
- the ability to apply this knowledge to work
- the ability to research, analyse and use information effectively

Graduate Officers gain these competencies through a combination of their placement and participation in the professional development program.
