Goal 4: Equitable Employment Opportunities

That DSQ provides a workplace free of disability discrimination.

Strategy 4.1

To ensure that staff with a disability can participate equitably in the DSQ workplace.

Actions

4.1.1 Collect, monitor and report on Equal Employment Opportunity data, in compliance with the Equal Opportunity in Public Employment Act 1992 and to inform appropriate strategies to address target group representation issues within the department (refer to DSQ's Workforce Diversity and Equity Plan 2004-07).

4.1.2 Improve the information technology environment to support assistive technologies for staff with a disability.

Strategy 4.2

4.2.1 Develop and disseminate information to DSQ staff as appropriate, to raise their awareness about disability issues in employment. This will be achieved through the development and implementation of a communication strategy that targets all new and existing employees (refer to DSQ's Workforce Diversity and Equity Plan 2004-07).

4.2.2 Implement and revise as necessary, a communication strategy to promote this Plan and DSQ's commitment to achieving best practice in providing a workplace free of disability discrimination.
