Salary/remuneration
At Disability Services Queensland, you are appointed to a particular level depending upon your qualifications and experience. More information about salaries and allowances can be found on the Public Sector Industrial and Employee Relations website.
Hours of duty – flexible working hours
The hours of duty will vary depending on the type of occupation you are employed in. However, sometimes you might have to work outside these core business hours. If you do, we have flexible working arrangements, including time off in lieu. Some staff are employed on a roster basis.
Recreation leave
When you work at Disability Services Queensland, you will normally receive 20 working days per year plus 17.5 per cent loading on recreational leave. This can vary in remote regions, for example, in a northern remote region recreation leave of 25 working days per year plus 14.5 per cent loading.
Shift workers receive 25 working days per year plus 27.5 per cent leave loading . Recreation leave may also be taken on half pay.
Sick leave
You will be eligible for 10 working days sick leave a year on full pay.
Long service leave
You will accumulate long service leave at the rate of 1.3 weeks per year of service. Normally you will be eligible for long service leave after 10 years of continuous meritorious service. Long service leave may also be taken on half pay.
Specific entitlements
Some positions within Disability Services Queensland, such as our residential care officer roles, have specific conditions depending on your type of employment, for example, full-time, part-time or casual. More information about specific entitlements is made available to all job applicants.
