Annual Report 2006-07
This year we helped to support a record number of Queenslanders with a disability. Our department, together with funded non-government service providers, supported approximately 19,300 people with a disability by providing more than 36,900 services in Queensland. This is an increase of approximately 1,100 people with a disability being supported and 3,400 services being delivered compared to last year. These services included accommodation support, community support, community access and respite support.
We also continued to improve the way services are provided. One significant achievement was the launch of the Growing Stronger program of reform which represents a record investment in a better service system that will be easier to access, fairer for all and more sustainable in the future.
