Annual Report 2005-06

This has been a year of significant progress for Disability Services Queensland. One of the most important achievements was the introduction of improved safeguards to protect the rights of people with a disability with the assent of the Disability Services Act 2006, in April 2006.

Other highlights included increasing the total number of unique service users supported to 18 299 in 2005-06, increasing total funding for the provision of specialist disability services by $68.6 million to $509.5 million and increasing respite support, enabling provision of an additional 703 services of respite.
