Our organisation
Our organisation structure consists of two functional areas: Disability Services, Community and Home Care; and Strategic Policy and Evaluation.
Disability Services, Community and Home Care
Service delivery
- provides and purchases contemporary, quality disability services for Queenslanders with a disability and their families and carers.
Service access
- identifies eligibility for our services, what services are provided and how these are funded
- manages our department’s overall response to Queensland’s disability services needs.
Home and Community Care and Non-Government Organisations Contracting
- develops, procures and manages the Home and Community Care Program, Community Mental Health and the administration of our department’s contracts with non-government organisations.
Strategic Policy and Evaluation
- provides leadership and development of our strategic policy and legislative agenda
- develops and fosters a culture of quality and ongoing quality improvement in all DSQ-funded and provided disability support services.
Disability Services Queensland is part of a larger ministerial portfolio that includes the Department of Communities. The portfolio is supported by a shared Corporate Performance and Portfolio Services area which is hosted by the Department of Communities. This approach enables the two departments to share knowledge and use resources more efficiently.
